Hero Jan Hooghoudt Junior
Ludolf and his wife Manny have a son whom they name after the founder of the family business: Hero Jan.

A childhood memory of the building on the Nieuwe Ebbingestraat of Hero Jan junior:

"The motor set everything in motion via drive belts. The syrup kettles for the various flavors of Valencia, grenadine, raspberries and the famous lemon, but also the lawyer kettles and the fruit mill for the cherries, grapes, apples and berries. In this same room, fermentation sometimes also had to take place for winemaking. There was the steam boiler for the bottle rinsing machine and for pasteurizing the fruit in juice. It was incredibly compact.”

Stamp action
People holding a bottle Hooghoudt buy, find ten foreign stamps in a bag attached to their bottle. It should emphasize the international character of the family distillery. The family soaks and dries the stamps themselves, which they buy in bulk.
