2nd generation: The Experiment

Syne Barend and Ludolf Wietse Hooghoudt continue the work of mother Grietje. They like to experiment and were way ahead of their time. Ludolf introduces the Jonge Dubbel Graanjenever together with his son Hero Jan

What do stubborn children do? Right – they think they can do better than their parents. And that is exactly what drove Syne Barend and Ludolf Wietse. They continued the work of mother Grietje and refined the drinks by continuing to experiment and innovate. The notebooks they kept with the recipes are still family owned and our master distiller still uses them.

Young Double Grain Gin
Ludolf's great masterpiece came at the end of his career. Together with his son Hero Jan, he introduced the Young Double Grain Jenever. The Softest Jenever of all time.
