3rd generation: The marketer and trader
Thanks to Hero Jan's commercial spirit, the family distillery Hooghoudt quickly expanded. Coming in 1968 Hooghoudt as the very first distillery with a TV commercial
Hero Jan continued where his father, Ludolf, left off. Thanks to Hero Jan's curiosity and innovativeness, the distillery grew rapidly from the north to the south of the Netherlands and from east to west.
From regional to national
In 1968, such an innovative event took place: Hooghoudt was the very first distillery to launch a TV commercial. Unique for that time and for Hooghoudt. This ensures that Hooghoudt from a regional to a national brand. In the same year we introduced Kalmoes Herbal Bitter.
Under the leadership of Hero Jan, the distillery moved out of town, where we got our own street: Hooghoudtstreet 1.
